Multi-axial mechatronic systems commonly encounter the problem of vibration while attempting to drive machining systems at high speed. The aim of this paper is to study input shaping and Non Uniform Rational B-splines (NURBS) interpolation in order to provide a new qualitative command generator. The feasibility of genetic algorithms based input shaper combined with NURBS interpolation was investigated to generate smooth toolpath, thus increase the machining accuracy. Both simulation and experimental results have proved the practicability of the proposed method. The experimental results were tested on the industrial high speed biaxial system, but the method can be applied to any multi-axis configuration.
