Tóm tắt:
Landslide is a common natural hazard in the northern part of Viet Nam. The main objective of the present study is to investigate and evaluate the predictive capability of Bayesian Network (BN) classifier for spatial prediction of rainfallinduced landslides at Luc Yen district, the Yen Bai province (in the northern part of Viet Nam). BN is known as an efficient data mining method for classification problems; however, its application for landslide problems is still limited. For this study, landslide spatial prediction using BN has been carried out through four main steps (1) preparation of an inventory map of landslides, (2) identification of causing factors for landslides; (3) development of the BN model for landslide susceptibility, and (4) validating and assessment of the BN model using receiver operating characteristic curve and statistical analyzing methods. Result shows that the prediction capability of the BN model is good with AUC = 0.840, and the landslide susceptibility map developed in this study might be helpful for land use planning and decision making in the study area.
